A MAJOR PRODUCTION ISSUE CHANGE IN

Production continued through with the standard 3/8 inch thick open recess tang pommell that was held on by a pin that went 3/4 way through the pommell that became standard for all productions..

The handle was the standard leather type with a thick fiber spacer at top and bottom,

The blade, pommell & crossguard now powder coated glossy black . with a new Ka Bar.Olean.NY. logo (without any dots) on one side of the ricasso and a new larger USMC on the other.The top clip not sharpened. and the blade grind now up against the fuller like the first issues.

The early white box which was the standard blueprint design was now changed to a black box with a blade on the top New revised printed leaflets were enclosed for description and maintenance

The Leather sheath with USMC stampings was sown & riveted together , and the design of the USMC changed with much broader letteringletter.
